Marlon de Mendonça is an engineer graduated from the Pontifical Catholic University of Minas Gerais in 1998. Before graduating, he was already working in steelmaking and metallurgy, focused on refractory ceramics, research and development, quality, process standardization and training.
Since then he has dedicated himself to metallurgy, with an emphasis on non-ferrous metals from 2003 onward. Dynamic, committed and ethical, he ensures projects run smoothly with technical rigor and persistence, regardless of the execution site.

Founder's manifesto

More than 30 years ago, I walked into a mineral-processing plant in Poços de Caldas, Minas Gerais, and there I discovered, without being able to explain it, that this was my place in the world. It was the hydrometallurgy of bauxite, turning ore into aluminum oxides and, further along, in the refinery, turning those oxides into pure metal — and I, a chemistry lab analyst, watched that engineering miracle with a joy that mixed admiration and wonder. I already knew it then. That was where my spirit lived.
I worked alongside men and women from INB – Indústrias Nucleares do Brasil, later CNEN – the National Nuclear Energy Commission, who carried the pride of serving a national company, one built on cutting-edge, exemplary technology. Some of them studied engineering with me; others were my professors. That is where I learned something I never forgot: mineral wealth is not real wealth until it is turned into value for our own country.
Later, I lived through the world of steelmaking and metallurgy — chemical processes, furnaces of every kind. And once in Ribeirão Preto, I moved in 2002 into non-ferrous metal metallurgy, at another national company, one I am still proud to have been part of.
Today, with critical minerals at the center of the global transition — and Brazil holding world-class reserves — I feel it is time to say what I believe: Brazil needs to reclaim sovereignty over its mining, agricultural and industrial activities. We need to process our own wealth here, at home, with respect for nature, with real sustainability — not as a talking point, but in the process itself.
We are not for sale. We are not lost. We believe in a Brazil that is fair, free and self-sustaining in its professionalism — one that seeks international partnerships to add knowledge, never to hand over what is ours.
We have had enough of the long periods when Brazil was a colony, and exploited as one. We will not go back, nor drift along under blind policy. We stand for our heritage, our land and our future. We believe — and we will build — a sovereign, prosperous Brazil, respected around the world.
